Back on the Diet Train

Soo Ivana and I have decided to once again take up our diets. This time we have ultimatums. We will weigh in once a week, and whoever loses the least has to take the garbage out for the entire following week. Sooo hopefully I lose more than her! haha... I worked out for an hour and 45 minutes tonight after night class. geesh! I am tired... But a good tired!

I had an interview with European Bridal today. It went well, I have a follow up on Thursday. Tomorrow I have an interview at The Shhhhh Restaurant. I am really excited about it, I hope it's as good of a place as I am expecting!!

Update

Today was semi-uneventful. I spend about an hour tracking down a planisphere for my astronomy class, finally settling on just buying it from campus, since it's the same price.

My computer AC adapter is offically dead. I plugged it in last night and heard a very loud POP and then nothing. Luckily I found a new one on ebay for 18 dollars. So that's not that bad!

Work was retarded once again.... I got cut after 3 hours, which is totally not worth my time. I am axiously awaiting the call from david's bridal... I hope they call me tomorrow!!!

Work out tomorrow? For sure! I am 14 lbs. down, and 14 more to go!

Reflections

My kitten Orlando (almost a cat?!?!) is cuddling with me in bed tonight. :-) He is the cutest isn't he??

So Here I sit in my nicely clean bedroom, in my new, wonderful bed my dad bought me from IKEA :-) I needed to retreat out of the living room into my room, so I wasn't distracted by Will and Grace that Ivana my roommate is watching on TV.

I cracked open my Creative Writing Book about an hour ago, actually, It's my professor's book, he is letting me borrow it until I get paid, isn't that nice? :-) Tonight I read "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. The first few pages I wasn't really into, it felt like the story was a really long introduction to the scene. Of course, the title is "The Things They Carried" and the first few pages were all about the different items that these particular soldiers during the Vietnam war were carrying. So I guess it is understandable that a significant part of the story is about that. But embedded in all the paragraphs about rifles and ponchos and ammunition, was a story of a deep love that wasn't requited. It was a heartfelt account of the love Jimmy Cross felt for a girl he knew, Martha, and what he wishes would have happened when they had a date some time ago. All in all, the story was engaging, and I would read it again for sure, to find new parts that I missed the first time around.

Today was actually a very productive day, I woke up on time for once, got to class only about 5 minutes late (Due to parking), and really felt like I learned something by the time I went home at 1 for my break until night class. Ivana and I also cleaned the apartment today too, it looks great! We changed the cream/green rug in the living room to a pink one, and I am definitely satisfied with how it turned out.

We are supposed to keep a journal for creative writing class and reflect on different aspects of our life. Today's topic: My childhood.

~I remember a lot from growing up in Bethel. I remember playing in the drive way while my mom was selling Tomato Plants to Lori, the woman who lived on our block, and telling her how I have a wonderful imagination, and rarely watched TV. I watch a lot more TV now, sorry Mommy!

~My favorite memory of my childhood would be playing in our woods that we had in the backyard. We called it The Indian Village and I was so happy when my sisters would finally let me come and play with them. It was usually just me and Bekah by the time I got around to playing, because Jen and Em I feel like were getting older and had other stuff to do. We would make "Mud Soap" and sit in the creek and literally put this mud concoction all over our arms and declare that we were then clean. haha. Good Times.

~Scariest childhood memory: When Bekah tied my wrists to the random trailer that we had in the driveway for a couple of months. I think my parents used it to set out flats of plants, or perhaps straw bails, either way, we were playing and for some reason I agreed to being tied to it. I don't know if Bekah was mad at me or if she was just playing around, but she left me there, tied up and alone, and all of a sudden a dog without a lease ran into our yard, barking like crazy and looking extremely scary. My screams of terror weren't responded to by Bekah, or Emily, who was supposed to be watching us but most likely was on the phone. I thought I was going to get attacked by this dog, and couldn't even defend myself because I was tied up. I struggled to get my wrists free from the ropes, tearing my skin and making me cry out even harder. The dog was closing in on me now and I felt for sure that I was a goner. Two second later, a woman from down the street happily came strolling by, not realizing that her dog had literally scared me to death. She continued walking and called out to the dog, who promptly left my side and followed his owner. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. And people wonder why I don' t like dogs? That is one reason! (There are many more)

Winter Quarter

Winter quarter has officially started and so far I'm liking it. It's a stressful quarter because I needed to load up on classes, 21 credit hours! Here are my classes:

9am MWF: Community Health. Why am I taking this? Because I needed an elective and I heard it was easy. 9am is not exciting though, but I'm dealing with it. Also the prof. cancels class almost every Friday. Which is nice since Thursday night are a going out night. :-)

10am MWF: Astronomy. Why am I taking this? See above explanation of Comm. Health. :-)

11am MWF: Creative Writing: Fiction. I am actually really excited about this class, I used to write poems all through Jr. High and High School. I know can you believe it? haha. So in this class we are writing short stories. I'm thinking of writing a Magical Balloon Story. My dad used to make up stories about a Magical Balloon that me and my sisters would get into and travel through time and discover all these crazy things. I thought it would be fun to write about Mya and Elsa (my future nieces) going on their own magic balloon adventure.

12pm MWF: Communication Theory. An important class, one of my core requirements. Important class but will most likely be an easy one. I love the professor, he is the nicest old man in the world. :-) And has really good stories about his family.

6:30pm M: American Writers. An elective but seems like it won't be too horrible of a night class. Through the years I have had some horrible night classes that are almost impossible to get through. This one seems alright, and my friend Nick is in it too, so that will help. :-)

9:30 TH: Theories of Interpersonal Communication. Loving this class already! It's everything I love to learn about, relationships, love, and why people do the things they do. I am very interested in finding out more of what this class has in store for me.

Online Class: Mass Communication. Nothing special here, just an online class consisting of many many discussion board posts. Which is fine. And most likely easy.

All in all, I like all my classes, and am very excited that I am getting organized too. haha.
